Our People

The Directors, Managers and Associates of IHS have a wealth of experience gained in all aspects of various infrastructure implementation and management. These skills are applied to each project to ensure that every phase is adequately addressed. Mobilization of these resources at the required time, and only for the required period, ensure that the project is achieved on a cost effective basis.

The right level of involvement is achieved through the record IHS has set for its experts in proving their capabilities, time and again, at the early stages of the projects.

IHS has made considerable investment in Human Resources and can call on specialists to address any aspect of a project.

We believe that the most important factor in any project is the close involvement maintained with the client, ensuring that progress targets are met, and that the project is progressing in line with the requirements of the client.

Our staff have worked with equipment and systems covering many different suppliers.

Our Board of Directors constitute of various experts lead by:

Mallam Bashir El-Rufai
A pioneer in the telecommunications sector in Nigeria. He has a BSc. combined honours degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He had worked in Kano State Oil & Allied Product Ltd as Training & Development Manager, before joining Nigerian Cereals Processing Company Ltd as Assistant Production Manager and Group Marketing Manager. He was also a Director of Kafal Pharmaceuticals Ltd. In the telecommunications sector, He was the Chief Commercial Officer for the Northern District of the Nigerian External Telecommunications Ltd (NET). He held several positions in the Nigerian Telecommunications Ltd (NITEL) such as General Manger for Lagos zone, Territorial Manager for Lagos zone and Deputy General Manager/Deputy Director. He was also the Co-founder and President of the first indigenous private telecom operator in Nigerian known as Intercellular Nigeria Ltd. He was also the Vice Chairman/Corporate Advisor of Intercellular/Sudatel (Nigeria) Limited and a Director at the Board of First Discount House Limited.


Managing Director:
Engr. William Saad
He holds a bachelors degree in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut, ranked number one in the Middle East. He has extensive training in management and telecommunications work. He started his working career with MCI in Beirut with his involvement in installation of Earth Stations & Digital Multiplexing equipments, maintenance of Gateway networks. He was Site Survey/Implementation Engineer & OMC/GSM system administrator. He worked for some years with LibanCell, the first GSM operator in the Middle East. In December of 1998, he joined Motophone Nigeria Limited as Operations Director with a mandate to oversee the Design, Implementation and Operation of Motophone’s GSM, PNL & VSAT networks in Nigeria. As a result of his outstanding performance at Motophone, he therefore became a popular choice for the post of Managing Director of IHS Nigeria PLC, where he is putting to good use his enormous wealth of experience and goodwill he had acquired in the communication world.


Jimoh Umoru - General Manager
Mr. Umoru graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and bagged LLB (Hons) degree in 1989. He proceeded immediately to the Nigeria Law School, Lagos for his Barrister at Law. He has an MBA degree, and has taken several executive courses at the Harvard Business School, Massachusetts, and the Center for American and International Law, Texas. He undertook the mandatory National Youth Service Corps at the Legal Aid Council. He started his career as a Legal Counsel in Umaru Shinkafi & Co. and later proceeded to Hussani Abdulrahman & Co., and Leasing Company of Nigeria Limited as the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser before joining IHS Nigeria PLC as the General Manager/Legal Adviser
